Welcome to Dyslexia Reading Connection (DRC) a division of Appleton Christian School Dyslexia is the most well researched disability in the world. Dyslexia is a language processing disorder that over 25 years of research has shown to be the most common cause of reading, writing and spelling struggles and failure. Fortunately, the research has also shown that people with Dyslexia can learn to read well if taught with a different method than is used in most classroom settings. Please go to http://www.dyslexiareadingconnection.com/and check the link “About Dyslexia” for the latest information about the research and effective teaching methods. The goal of Dyslexia Reading Connection is to bridge the gap between Dyslexia and Reading for as many people as possible through testing, tutoring and education. In pursuit of this goal we provide the following services: - One-on-one tutoring
- With the Barton Reading and Spelling Program, an Orton-Gillingham based method
- By trained tutors
- All year-round (start anytime of year)
- We teach children, teens and adults from throughout the Fox Valley how to read, spell, and write.

- Classroom Accommodations
- While a student is learning to read with an Orton-Gillingham method, they are capable of and still need to learn their grade level material. They need classroom accommodations in order to be taught and to demonstrate their knowledge of grade level material without going through their weakest skills.
- Students enrolled in ACS receive needed accommodations
- Students who are tested at DRC receive a written report outlining for their parents and school the accommodations they need.
- Testing for Dyslexia
- Testing is done by Lynn Hietpas, a certified Dyslexia Testing Specialist.
- Every student enrolled in ACS is screened for Dyslexia.
- Testing is available to anyone by appointment and for a fee.
